Fishing Report 8/11/2015

Bill will be on the Oregon Coast beginning August 1st fishing for the Fall Run Chinooks. With the weather staying between 95 – 108 degrees in the Rogue Valley, this should warm the river temperature and hopefully keep those Kings in the bay for the first couple of weeks. A trip to Gold Beach is a great plan!

The season is booking up quickly for the remainder of 2015 but we are already taking reservations for the 2016 seasons! Steelhead Jan – April, Spring Salmon May- July, and the
Fall Run Aug – October. Dates for 2016 are about 40% full so don’t delay any longer if your looking to book a date.

Fishing Report 2014

Hello everyone ~ First off I want to apologize for not updating our web sight and fishing report in over a year . There are no excuses and I know we all get so busy I will do my best to update at least once a month on where Bill is fishing and how his season is going this upcoming year.

We  have had a good push of rain this last 2 weeks which has made the Coquille and South Umpqua reach the highest levels we have seen in over 2 years. This means great opportunities for steelhead season coming upon us in no time. There has been a lot of  rock and gravel moving opening some new fishing holes and relocating some  others . Bill will be headed up to the South Umpqua and also the Coquille starting  the 1st of January . He has been doing some work up in Canyonville this last month and likes what he has seen for water ,he is chomping at the bit for the levels to come down and get on river to catch those steelhead like we all know he does so well. Right now he has some dates open in January  and just a about 8 days left in February.  March is also about 50% booked also so if you are wanting to get out of the office and House give us a call and we will get you down in the books for what we are anticipating to be a fabulous Steelhead season in  2015…

Fishing Report 11/18/13 – 11/24/13

Here we are again finished up with the Fall Run Chinook season over on the Oregon Coast and already halfway into November, Bill is running his cast and blast trips now through the end of January. There is nothing better than a day on the

water with great steelhead fishing and the option for limits of ducks and Geese. He will be fishing the Rogue River through Christmas, then heading out to the South Umpqua and Coquille River from January through March.

We are close to 50% booked for the early Steelhead season so if you are looking into booking a trip this season, don’t hesitate to call to reserve your dates. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Fishing Report 7/1/13 – 7/7/13

Well as the summer days start to heat up, so has the Spring Salmon fishing. The fish are in beautiful shape averaging 18-25 lbs. As of July 1st anglers are able to keep one “Wild” Salmon. Springer fishing should continue to be good through the month of July.

One other note. If your planning on making the trip out to the coast for the Fall Run Salmon, give us a call today to book your trip. Dates are beginning to fill, and you don’t want to miss out what should be another “Fantastic” fishing season.

Fishing Report 5/20/13 – 5/26/13

Spring Salmon Fishing has gotten off to a slow start. Most anglers are averaging about a fish a day, but with more fish heading upriver daily, Springer Fishing is expected to pick up soon. Approximately 700 Spring Chinook were recycled back in to the River at Gold Hill on May 16. This should also help with the slow start to the season.

Fishing Report 4/22/13 – 4/28/13

After another fantastic Winter Steelhead Season comes to an end, and May approaches, Bill is getting the power boat ready for what looks to be another great Spring Salmon Season. Early reports are a fair number of Salmon “Rolling” in the Hayes Hill area, and few fish have been caught in the 18-25 lb class an the old “Gold Ray Dam ” location.

Remember, no “Wild” Salmon can be kept above Gold Ray, until July 1 2013.

Fishing Report 12/31/2012 – 1/6/2013

Well you couldn’t ask for a better start to our 2013 Winter Steelhead Season. Finally, when the Rivers came back to fishing conditions, Bill was up on the South Umpqua River, and the fishing couldn’t have been any better. Two days of fishing produced twenty five hookups and landing nineteen of which, 70% being “Wild”. If the weather continues to cooperate, fishing should only get better.

Fishing Report 12/24/12 – 12/30/12

As we get ready for the New Year, Bill is getting ready for his annual “Cast and Blast” trips on the Upper Rogue River. With all of the rain we’ve been receiving the past few weeks, hopefully when the Rivers come back into shape, we should have a good run of Steelhead in the system. Then it will be on to the South Umpqua and Coquille River for another fantastic Steelhead season! If you’re thinking of making a trip up to Southern Oregon for a day on the River, book your trip soon, as many of the dates are beginning to fill.

Fishing Report 9/10/12 – 9/16/12

As I am sure you all are aware the fishing in the Rogue River Bay this season has been anything but Red Hot. The average total catch coming in is 20- 25 fish a day but, as I continue to stay up river towards Agness, my days have been nothing but fantastic. The fish have been very aggressive and just full of fight as they make there way up river. Most days we were close to, if not having, limits of Adult Chinook Salmon. They have been in the teen range of 14- 19 lbs but, when you add those to limits of jacks all shaped like footballs, it doesn’t take long to fill a cooler!

As we wind down the Fall Salmon Season, I will be heading back to Medford around October 7, and then I’m back into the drift boat for a couple of canyon trips through the Lower Rogue. After that we’ll be rolling right into the Winter Steelhead Season on the Upper Rogue River. Hope we get some early cold weather, that should make for some great CAST and BLAST trips through the holidays.

I have had a lot of clients re-booking their dates for the next fall season already, so if you have the desire to come on over and get in on some of this side drifting, Don’t hesitate to give Debi a call to lock in your dates!

Fishing Report 8/6/12 – 8/13/12

Well, after one of the best Spring Salmon Seasons in years, were out at the coast getting ready for the Fall Chinook and Silver Salmon Season. Our first day out had us upriver, side drifting for Kings and we went two for two, with and average weight of 20 lbs. As the River temperature upriver continued to increase, we were back in the bay trolling spinner baits. With Salmon rolling in the bay, one would have thought fishing would have been better. Hopefully the fish in the bay start biting so we can get this Fall Season going.
