Sorry, nothing to report this week. Elk Hunting!

Entering the month of October, Bill is still fishing the Agness area and having great success. Limits of Fall run Chinook Salmon, mixed in with a few Silver Salmon, and Winter Steelhead, has been the norm. Many of the Chinooks have been Jacks, which is a good sign for next years run, averaging 7 lbs.

Fishing continues to be good in the Agness area, and is improving in the Upper Rogue in the Grants Pass area. On the 30th of September, Bill hooked 8 King Salmon, and landed 6. The fish ranged from 14 to 25 lbs, and all of the fish landed were released back into the river. The reports from the Bay is the Silver Salmon are started to increase in numbers, along with a good run of Jack Salmon. These fish are a blast to catch on our 9 ft. spinning rods and 8 lbs test line.

The weather forecast is for cooler temperatures in the morning (mid 30’s to low 40’s) and warming in the afternoon to the upper 60’s. There is a chance of rain every other day so have your rain gear ready.
