My apologies for not updating the fishing report for quite some time. Let me summarize what took place for the remainder of the Fall Salmon season. The RogueBay never really got going, and this led us to fish a majority of the time upriver for the Kings.

On Derby Day, our very own Debi Urie landed a 31 lbs. Chinook Salmon, good enough for 3rd place in the women’s division. She was fishing with her son, Bill Jr. Way to go!

Whether it was the higher water flows, cooler water temperature, the removal of the dams upriver, or all of the above, the Kings didn’t stay in the Bay very long. This provided some excellent side drifting for Salmon upriver. Most days we were averaging near limits to limits. It ended up to be one of the best Fall Seasons we’ve had in years.

We are now running a few canyon trips, and possibly a trip on the Chetco for their short Salmon season. After that, some much needed R & R, and then we’ll be getting ready for the Winter Steelhead Season!
