Started the week out fishing the South Umpqua, but moved to the Coquille and Lower Rogue later in the week due to the raising water conditions on the South Umpqua from the snow melt. Steelhead fishing continues to be excellent. The Lower Rogue produced and average of 4-9 fish days, while on the Coquille, Bill had hooked 8 and landed 5 before noon, with the biggest going 15 lbs.

Forecast for this years Spring Chinook Salmon run is expected to be one of the biggest in 7 years. They are expecting a run of over 1.7 million Spring Salmon returning to the West Coast! The first Spring Salmon for the season was already caught in Gold Beach this past week!
